Yes, services are included in cost of attendance through tuition or fees, and available to current Â鶹ŮÀÉ undergraduate or graduate students.  No insurance, fees, or co-pays are required.

No. When students schedule an appointment, no insurance is required.

Students must schedule their own appointment. They can call the SCRC appointment desk at (636) 949-4541. The scheduling process can be done independently or with the support of a friend, family member, faculty or staff member.

The SCRC maintains strict confidentiality in accordance with professional, legal, and ethical guidelines. Other than authorized staff, no one has access to any counseling records unless you sign a written request for disclosure. This authorization is required to share any information, even verification of attendance with the university.

Exceptions to Confidentiality: State and federal law permit mental health professionals to break confidentiality under certain circumstances. These circumstances include situations when an individual poses a danger or threat to themself or to another person; in the case of potential abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable (elderly/disabled) adult; in the event of a court order or subpoena, or when otherwise mandated by law.  If you are under 18 years of age, your legal guardian is required to provide consent for treatment.

  • In the event of a mental health crisis or extenuating circumstances, other campus partners will be notified.  A list of these specific partners will be discussed in detail with you during your first session with your counselor.

Yes, the Wellness Center can prescribe medication to treat mental health symptoms. Mercy’s Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) can prescribe some medications to treat some mental health symptoms.  An additional resource through Mercy is Mercy’s Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).  The SCRC can assist with referrals to the FNP and/or the PMHNP-BC.

Miranda is Mercy’s Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner here at Â鶹ŮÀÉ and is available on Wednesdays in the Wellness Center. To schedule an appointment, call (636) 949-4804 or talk with your therapist, who can guide you to the Mercy front desk.

You will have your first session (also known as the intake session) where you will:

  • Fill out paperwork (takes about 15 minutes) and meet with your counselor for an initial session (which takes 60-75 minutes).
  • You’ll be asked a variety of questions to guide the treatment planning process to help establish what your goals for therapy are and how the SCRC can best help with those goals.
  • In addition, you may be connected with other available resources including community or campus resources as needed.

Students can receive up to 6 sessions per semester. If you need additional support, we’re happy to discuss available resources and options.

All students have access to 3 free telemental health counseling sessions with 24/7 availability through Uwill’s, Umatch service. When you register, you will be able to match with a licensed professional counselor based on your specific needs and preferences. You can access this resource through .
